Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel. Embark on a journey as the Greymane Kliff and restore what has been lost. Explore uncharted lands, fight against threats that stand in your way, and discover the wonders the world has in store.

So this game will be releasing on March 19th and it is looking VERY promising. Pearl Abyss (devs) first made Black Desert which got mostly positive feedback up until recently. I think they are switching up their focus for the new game and players have noticed with some of their recent decisions with the game. That one was also online. Crimson Desert appears to be single player and will not feature any microtransactions which is honestly a breath of fresh air when it comes to gaming. I am hoping they add in a co-op feature however as I prefer to play these types of games with a friend or two. It is looking very unlikely however.

Anyways, is anyone here planning on playing it when it releases?

Highguard seems to be a massive disappointment

So I am seeing tons of people throwing this game under the bus. I watched a few streamers playing it and honestly, it is a free game so I don't think people should be complaining THIS much but the game is nothing that interests me. It feels almost soulless and boring. I can't quite figure it out.

At release I think it has something like 90k players and before the first 24 hours period ended, it dropped to 16k.

The same people that worked on the Concord game that flopped hard worked on this and it kind of shows. The graphics aren't great. The designs, especially for the guns, seem rushed and uncreative. It almost feels like AI made this game.

As I said, I have no interest. I still enjoy Apex Legends. Has anyone played it here?

Minecraft injecting politics into the game?

I under stand the appeal to want to do this but this is not the kind of game for it. Minecraft is primarily played by kids and pushing political stuff like protesting, civil rights, etc. into it just doesn't sit right with me. I will say that it is optional DLC so they are not forcing it which is good but it has been met with a lot of backlash. So much so people are memeing it and they had to lock the comments on X about it. It doesn't help that kids are staging ICE raids on Roblox (I have no idea what is going on with that game). So I don't think they understand what is happening right now.

Real world politics in video games only makes sense if the game is centered around them already. Minecraft is very much a creative escapism game and this just is... strange. Like I said, they aren't forcing it and it is optional so I would imagine most players will just avoid it anyways but I think people in general, both young and old, are tired of real world political pandering and messaging in video games. Good intentions aside, it was a bad move and bad timing IMO.

Thoughts on inZOI compared to Sims?

I had been looking for a Sims replacement. I no longer like Sims 4 for a number of reasons. I went back to play Sims 3 but was having issues. I ended up getting the Sims 2 relaunch via Steam when it was released. It mostly runs great but I have to use soooo many mods for extra content. I ended up getting bored with it after a few months. I love simulation games like this and the closest I have seen to the Sims is inZOI. I believe it is a Chinese developed game. It gets decent reviews but a lot of them can be fake, who knows. Just curious if anyone here has played both and how inZOI compares to Sims, particularly Sims 4.

It is still in early access so I am hesitant to drop any money on it right now.
