Some people say February, others say March. Some even say April. So I am a bit confused. Does it depend on what you intend on growing?
I am looking to grow a few small crops for the summer. I do have a small grow light and can start a decent amount of seeds. I am just not sure if I should start them now or wait until March. I know they can't go outside until the last nightly frost is over.

It depends on your zone really but I think most people start their vegetables and fruit indoors in March. You may as well just wait a few weeks. Cucumbers, peppers, onions, tomatoes, carrots, etc. take 60 to 90 days to mature. So you can usually get away with planting these types about 2 months in advance. If you don't have space for them to get larger, I would recommend waiting closer to April.
Hi! What zone are you in? https://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/
When to start depends on your zone, I'd say. If you're in the U.S., you can get helpful info from your state cooperative extension: https://extension.org/find-cooperative-extension-in-your-state/
